The Military Order of the Devil Dogs (MODD) is the “Fun and Honor Society” of the Marine Corps League. Composed of active Marine Corps League members. It promotes sociability, comradeship, good fellowship, provides entertainment at League gatherings, and raises funds for children’s hospitals and other charities.

************************************************************ “Teufelshunde” (Devil Dogs) is a nickname for U.S. Marines originating from the 1918 Battle of Belleau Wood, WWI. According to lore, German troops used this term Teufelshunde (meaning “”hell hounds”) to describe the ferocious Marines who continued attacking while wearing gas masks. It became a lasting symbol of Marine fighting spirit.
